TİKA Supports War-Stricken Crimean Tatars in Ukraine

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) delivered food parcels to 500 war-stricken Crimean Tatar families in Ukraine.

Food parcels sent to be delivered to families who used to live in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia but had to move to safer areas of the country due to the war were delivered to the Crimean National Wealth Fund.

More than 800 Crimean Tatar families who were displaced due to the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the war that began in February 24, 2022, live in the villages of Chaiky, Tarasivka, Bilohorodka, Boyarka, and Boryspilska in Kyiv. Most of the families live in difficult conditions due to the unemployment rate and economic recession in the country.

The food delivery event held by TİKA was attended by Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People; Lenur Mambetov, Managing Director of the Crimean National Wealth Fund; and Cüneyt Esmer, TİKA’s Coordinator in Ukraine.
