03 November 2023TİKA Supports Vocational Training in Tajikistan
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) organized a shoe-making training at the Shoe Making Training Center of Dushanbe Vocational High School for Disabled Students in Tajikistan.
The 2nd Phase Shoe-Making Training organized by TİKA in Dushanbe Vocational High School for Disabled Students, which is active within the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Public Employment, was attended by 22 people in total, consisting of trainers from the Shoe-Making Training Center, students, and the experts and craftsmen of the other organizations active in the sector.
The training was designed to be a sequel to the basic training which took place in 2022, and the students were taught the phrases of making a template, cutting, sewing, and assembling; thus, they became able to make a shoe from scratch.
After the two-week-long training program, the participants were given a participation certificate. The certificate ceremony was attended by the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dushanbe, Umut Acar; the Republic of Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Public Employment, Şahnoza Nodiri; and TİKA’s Coordinator in Dushanbe, İbrahim Ethem Ünal.
In his speech during the certificate ceremony, Ambassador Acar stated that on the 100th anniversary of the Republic, TİKA is Türkiye’s source of pride with its projects that touch lives all around the world. Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Public Employment Nodiri expressed her appreciation for TİKA’s contribution to vocational training in Tajikistan.
The training aims to educate the necessary human resources, especially for the development of the shoe-making sector in Tajikistan, enabling the disabled young people who study in the center to acquire a profession and support their employment.
