TİKA Supports Training Programs on Agricultural Cooperative Management in Kyrgyzstan

The term 2022 of the Training Programs on Cooperative Management, which were held in Kyrgyzstan with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in order to develop agricultural cooperative management, has been completed.

Certificates were presented to 120 Kyrgyz farmers who attended the training program on cooperative management at the Center for Support, Information, and Consultancy for Cooperatives, built by TİKA in the Faculty of Economics and Information Systems at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin.

The virtual certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Jyrgalbek Bardybayev, Deputy Director of the Department of Mechanization, Innovative Cooperatives, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic; Uğur Tanyeli, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships at TİKA; Almazbek Irgashev, Vice Rector of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin; Osman Usta, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Bishkek; Venera Kocogulova, Director of the Center for Support, Information, and Consultancy for Cooperatives; instructors; and farmers from different parts of the country.

In his opening speech, Jyrgalbek Bardybayev, Deputy Director of the Department of Mechanization, Innovative Cooperatives, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, stressed the importance of cooperatives for the Kyrgyz economy and thanked TİKA for its support for the project.

Uğur Tanyeli, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships at TİKA, referred to the success of Marmarabirlik in Bursa and the beet cooperatives in Konya in Türkiye and stated that it is time to establish a large cooperative in Kyrgyzstan. He added that he believes such a cooperative will be established soon.

Almazbek Irgashev, Vice Rector of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin, mentioned the advantages and benefits provided by the Center for Support, Information, and Consultancy for Cooperatives, which was built at the university and contributed to the knowledge of farmers.

After the construction of the Center for Support, Information, and Consultancy for Cooperatives by TİKA in 2019, the “Training Program for Trainers on Cooperative Management” was held by agricultural specialists from Türkiye for 20 faculty members at the university. The faculty members who completed the training have trained nearly 400 farmers from all parts of Kyrgyzstan in three years.
