TİKA Supports the University Hospital in Tunisia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided a Hemodialysis Unit to Medenine Habib Bourguiba University Hospital.

In Medenine Habib Bourguiba University Hospital, the largest hospital in Medenine, ICU patients with chronic kidney failure could not receive hemodialysis treatment as the ICU unit and the hemodialysis unit were located far from each other in the hospital. Patients who needed continuous hemodialysis treatment had to be transferred to hospitals in big cities such as Sfax and Tunis.

As part of the project it implemented upon the request of the manager of Medenine Habib Bourguiba University Hospital, TİKA provided the hospital with a mobile hemodialysis unit consisting of a hemodialysis machine and a mini water treatment station to be used in the treatment of ICU patients with kidney failure who need to be isolated due to COVID-19 or other reasons. TİKA officials delivered the machines to Medenine Habib Bourguiba University Hospital.
