TİKA Supports the Primary Healthcare Center in Shagarab Refugee Camp in Sudan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) equipped the primary healthcare center in Shagarab Refugee Camp, which is located in Kassala State and is home to Eritrean refugees.

The primary healthcare center located in the refugee camp, which is home to 65,000 people according to unofficial reports, provides health services with limited means. There is an outpatient clinic, a gynecology clinic, a pediatric clinic, and an AIDS clinic in the campus of the primary healthcare center.

As part of the project, medical devices and materials such as blood counters, electrolyte analyzers, centrifugal devices, microscopes, calorimeters, scales, blood pressure monitors, and stethoscopes, as well as 20 patient beds and 10 examination tables, were delivered to the primary healthcare center. Many refugees in need of healthcare can now access primary healthcare services in the camp without needing to be referred to Kassala, located nearly 50 km from the camp.
