Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) supported the ecological products market set up in the Myrtou Festival Area in cooperation with Lapithos Municipality and the Association for the Beautification, Development, and Sustainment of the Town of Myrtou (ÇAM-SEV).
TİKA supported the Ecological Products Market set up in the festival area in Myrtou, Lapithos, where many other events are held several times a year.
The project included flooring installations, the installation of a drip irrigation system, and landscaping activities. Wooden tables were placed in the festival area, which has a solar-powered night-time lighting system.
Grapes, olives, carob, and mushrooms grown in the region; local homemade products such as churchkhela and pickled mushrooms; and handicrafts produced with traditional techniques such as Lefkara lace will be offered for sale at the Myrtou Ecological Products Market, which will be set up once every two weeks.
