Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) improved the physical environment of Room 121 in the Department of Turkic Studies at ELTE in Hungary.
TİKA implemented a new project in Hungary. TİKA, which had previously carried out major projects in different industries in Hungary, improved the physical environment of Room 121, which has a capacity of 20 students, in ELTE Department of Turkic Studies in Hungary, which was established in 1870 and is considered the first Turkology Department in the world. The desks and chairs in the classroom were renovated, and a bookshelf with manuscripts was donated.
About ELTE in Hungary
The Department of Turkic Studies at the university was established by Vámbéry Ármin, a world renowned Turkologist who had traveled to the Ottoman lands and Central Asia and was familiar with the Turkic world. ELTE was founded in the city of Nagyszombat in 1635 and was moved to Buda in 1777. It has since been the largest university in Hungary. Our Agency had previously provided technical equipment to the Department of Turkic Studies at the university.
