TİKA Supports the “Contemporary Turkish Female Painters Exhibition” in the TRNC

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Turkish-Speaking States and Communities Friendship, Brotherhood, and Cooperation Foundation (TÜDEV) opened the “Contemporary Turkish Female Painters Exhibition” at the exhibition hall of Yunus Emre Institute in Nicosia.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, TÜDEV, Yunus Emre Institute, and University of Mediterranean Karpasia and opened on February 21, 2020, the exhibition was attended by the TRNC’s Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Minister of Public Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan, the Justice and Development Party’s MP for Ankara Yıldırım Tuğrul Türkeş, Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri, and TİKA Nicosia Program Office Coordinator Havva Pınar Özcan.

Prime Minister Ersin Tatar opened the exhibition, which features the works of 6 Turkish female painters. After the opening of the exhibition, painter and historical researcher Nuray Bilgili informed the participants on “Turkish Mythology and Goddess Umay” in the interview moderated by Prof. Haydar Çakmak.

The exhibition features contemporary Turkish paintings and modern interpretations of Turkish motifs and can be visited from February 21 to 28.
