TİKA Supports Talent Contest in Afghanistan

Western Afghanistan Talent Contest organized in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), The Milkyway Oriental University, and Miraj Radio and Television was held in the city of Herat in Afghanistan.

A great number of people including mainly university students and faculty members from western Afghanistan participated in the talent contest.

Speaking at the opening of the program, TİKA’s Coordinator in Herat, Arafat Deniz stated that the organized competition is inspiring for young people and would play a critical role in the promotion and discovery of young talents in Herat.

Taking the floor at the opening, the Rector of the Milkyway Oriental University, Ali Settari mentioned the positive effect of the program on young people and expressed that as a higher education institution, they take the contribution to such activities as a duty.

The Manager of Miraj Radio and Television, Habibullah Ferahi mentioned the role of media in such activities and stated that this program would be televised on Miraj Television and would be inspiring for other young people.

Later in the program, 6 finalist speakers chosen from 30 participants talked about their life stories and the difficulties they had faced on the road to success. At the end of the program in which 300 people participated, 30 participants were given certificates and 6 speakers were given presents provided by TİKA.
