TİKA Supports South Sudan’s Fight against COVID19

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided hygiene kits to 510 families in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, to support the country’s fight against COVID-19.

To support the fight against COVID-19 in South Sudan, Africa’s youngest country, TİKA provided hygiene kits to 510 families in need, most of whom live in slums.

Stating that people in this landlocked country have difficulty in accessing food and cleaning supplies since the country closed its land borders and stopped the air traffic as part of the measures taken, TİKA’s Assistant Coordinator of Juba Turgut Gazigil said, “Following the food aid projects we launched in Ramadan, we continue our assistance activities in Juba by providing hygiene kits to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. This year, we will focus on projects in agriculture, education, and healthcare, especially on vocational training and employment projects, in South Sudan.”
