TİKA Supports Renewable Energy in Lebanon

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) installed a system to generate electricity from solar energy in the campus of the University of Tripoli located in Tripoli, Lebanon.

TİKA installed a system to general electricity from solar energy in the campus of the University of Tripoli, in which education has been provided in Turkish for 8 years.

Having been installed with an aim to minimize the energy cost, which constitutes the largest portion in the expenses of the university, the system consists of installation of solar energy panels in the administrative building, dormitory building, and faculty buildings.

This ensures continuity without power outage in the university in which 3,500 students are enrolled for education.

Among the participants of the opening ceremony were Ali Barış Ulusoy, the Republic of Türkiye Beirut Ambassador, Orhan Aydın, TİKA Beirut Coordinator, Rıfat Mikati, Rector of the University of Tripoli, Saffan Dannavi, President of Tripoli Lebanese Turkish Friendship Association as well as executive board members and academicians of the university.
