TİKA Supports Preserving the Gagauz Turkish Language

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided support for the education program which has been developed in order to encourage the pre-school kids to speak Gagauz in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Moldova.

TİKA provided support for the “Lafet Gagauz” Program, which has been organized by the Meras Association in order to improve the Gagauz language in Gagauzia, Moldova and to encourage the pre-school kids in particular to speak Gagauz.

As part of the project, which aims to raise awareness on the usage of the Gagauz language, 34 kids who successfully completed the “Lafet Gagauz” Program were honored.

The certificates of achievement and bicycles, which were handed out at the certificate ceremony of the “Lafet Gagauz” Program that coincided with the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, put a smile on the faces of the Gagauz children who participated in the program.
