14 October 2021TİKA Supports "International Symposium on the Turkic World" in Baku
With the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and under the coordination of the Turkish Hearths Headquarters, "Turkic States on the 30th Anniversary of their Independence and International Symposium on the Turkic World" were held in Baku.
The event was held on the 30th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on October 8-9, 2021.
Azerbaijan Technical University hosted the opening ceremony of the event which was organized for evaluating the meaning of the past thirty years for the Turkic World in 2021, addressing the integration and harmonization issues of the Turkic World, and putting forth a future-oriented perspective in light of concrete needs and realities.
Azerbaijani Deputy Ministry of Education Muhtar Memmedov, Turkish Ambassador to Baku Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Bağcı, President General of Turkish Hearths Prof. Dr. Mehmet Öz, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University Vilayet Veliyev, TİKA's Baku Program Coordinator Fatih Yılmaz, Vice Rector of Gazi University Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluç, Vice Rector of Boğaziçi University Gürkan Kumbaroğlu, President of Turkish Hearth in Azerbaijan Akif Aşırlı and many expert academicians and researchers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan attended the opening ceremony.
UNESCO President of Turkish National Committee Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz and President of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan attended the event via videoconferencing.
After the opening ceremony, two sessions entitled "Karabakh Special Session" and "Integration of the Turkic World and the Turkic Council" were held.
In the context of the international scientific event held in two different conference halls at Hilton Baku, sessions entitled "Economic Cooperation Between Turkic States", "Educational Cooperation Between Turkic States", "Integration of the Turkic World and the Media", "Bilateral Relations and Cooperation Between Turkic States", "Security Problems in the Turkic World and Military Cooperation", "Identity Issues in the Turkic World", "Religion and Culture in the Turkic World", "Language and History of the Turkic World" were organized.
Within the framework of the 2-day event, participants presented 45 scientific papers. It is planned that these papers will be published by Türk Yurdu Yayınları and presented to both decision makers and the public.
