TİKA Supports Greenhouse Vegetable Production in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Intending to develop greenhouse vegetable production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) supported the installment of 1000 square meters of greenhouse for 20 families.

In Zavidoviçi Municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Zenica-Doboj Canton, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided the installment of 1000 square meters of greenhouse for 20 families by supporting 5 different women’s solidarity associations to develop the greenhouse vegetable production.

As a part of this project, Zavidoviçi Municipality provided vegetable seedlings to the users within the associations, thus enabling women to have a bigger role in agricultural production.

Zavidoviçi Mayor Hašim Mujanović attended the delivery ceremony of the project and stated that the project is mainly targeted at women who do not have a regular income, emphasizing that the importance of increasing and diversifying small-scale production activities and thanked TİKA.

Thanks to the project, the women are able to keep their hand-grown products in natural conditions, thus avoiding yield loss and negative effects of seasonal conditions while selling these products in the municipality markets and the fairs that take place in the region with “natural product” labels.
