TİKA Supports Fruit and Vegetable Juice Producers in Croatia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) set up a “Fruit and Vegetable Juice Production Line” for the Association of Agrotourism of Lepoglava, operating in Varaždin, Croatia.

Female farmers who had been engaged in agriculture in Varaždin, located in northern Croatia, for many years established the Association of Agrotourism of Lepoglava to support agricultural and economic development by ensuring that fruits and vegetables grown in the region are processed into high value-added products.

As part of the project implemented by TİKA, a “Fruit and Vegetable Juice Production Line” was set up in the building allocated to the Association of Agrotourism of Lepoglava by Varaždin Municipality on the main route where the city of Lepoglava intersects with the settlements in Varaždin. 100 liters of fruit and vegetable juice is produced, pasteurized, preserved against oxidation, bottled, and made ready for sale along the production line every hour.

The Fruit and Vegetable Juice Production Line, which will be available to all local producers free of charge, is expected to make a significant contribution both to local producers and to other players in the industry.

Natasa Veic, President of the Association of Agrotourism of Lepoglava, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony that was held for the Fruit and Vegetable Juice Production Line and attended by the Mayor and municipal officials of Varaždin, the Mayor and municipal officials of Lepoglava, the President and members of the Association of Agrotourism of Lepoglava, and local producers. She said, “I am very happy that this project has been implemented. I would like to thank those who contributed to it. It was such a big dream of ours. The project will benefit all local people, contribute greatly to agricultural activities, and affect the entire region.”
