TİKA Supports Employment of Disabled People in Algeria

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) donated 14 motorcycles adapted for handicapped riders to make the employment of disabled people as couriers possible in Algeria.

TİKA provided 14 motorcycles for disabled people to be employed as couriers within the framework of the protocol between several different firms and Association Attawassol, which works for the participation of disabled people in social life in Algeria.

The vehicles were delivered to association members at the ceremony attended by Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Algeria Ms. Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, the President of Association Attawassol Beşir Berrak, and TİKA's Algeria Coordinator Dr. Alparslan Çevik.

Highlighting the importance of the participation of disabled people in social life in her speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said that TİKA's support would help create jobs for many people.

On the other hand, Association President Beşir Berrak stated in his speech that such an event was organized for the first time for their association, expressed his association's happiness about TİKA's support and emphasized the importance of the association for disabled people.

TİKA's Algeria Coordinator Dr. Alparslan Çevik said that TİKA conducted social activities in Algeria, as it did in all over the world, and that this initiative would significantly help the association members in creating jobs for disabled people. Çevik also mentioned that they would carry out
