TİKA Supports Dental Health Services in Tanzania

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided a 3D imaging device to the Faculty of Dentistry at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Dar es-Salaam.

A large number of maxillofacial operations is performed in the Faculty of Dentistry at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences throughout the year, and 3D imaging (CBCT) devices are needed for accurate diagnosis before these operations.

TİKA implemented a project to provide a 3D imaging device to the faculty in order to improve the capacity of the faculty members of the Faculty of Dentistry in Dar es-Salaam and the quality of service offered to patients and to provide a side income to the faculty.

Founded in 1963, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is composed of five faculties and two institutes and has three campuses, two in Dar es-Salaam and one in Bagamoyo.
