TİKA Supports CRTV, a State Owned Broadcaster in Cameroon

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated the main studio of CRTV, a state-owned broadcaster in Cameroon, and provided technical equipment.

The modern media equipment procured as part of the project was delivered to officials at a ceremony held at the renovated studio of CRTV and attended by Ayşe Saraç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Yaoundé; Charles Ndongo, General Manager of CRTV; and Dr. Mehmet Yazgan, TİKA’s Yaoundé Coordinator.

In her speech at the ceremony, Ayşe Saraç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Yaoundé, reminded the training programs that have recently been organized by TİKA in cooperation with Anadolu Agency, and said that TİKA and the Embassy strove to take the friendly relations between Cameroon and Turkey to the highest level. Ambassador Saraç stated that they implemented Turkey’s humanitarian and entrepreneurial foreign policy effectively and that in this context, TİKA has been very successful in development cooperation activities in Cameroon with its humanitarian approach.

Charles Ndongo, General Manager of CRTV, said that they were pleased with TİKA’s contribution to their company and appreciated Turkey’s support. He noted that the modern equipment offered as the gift of the people of Turkey would be used in the coverage of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which was taking place in Cameroon. General Manager Ndongo pointed out that the relations between Cameroon and Turkey were taken to a new level with the help of TİKA, and stated that they would take the necessary steps to strengthen their relations with the media organizations in Turkey.

Dr. Mehmet Yazgan, TİKA’s Yaoundé Coordinator, stressed the role of the media in inter-communal communication and stated that this project was particularly significant among other projects implemented by TİKA in Cameroon. He added that he was glad to deliver this equipment, which was the gift of the people of Turkey, to CRTV, an important organization, and to contribute to the renovation of the main studio.
