TİKA Supports Computer-Assisted Music Teaching in Tajikistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated two classrooms and built a computer-assisted musical notation education laboratory at the Secondary Boarding School of Arts named after Miratullo Atoyev and the Secondary Special Music Boarding School named after Ziyodullo Shahidi in Dushanbe, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan.

The opening ceremony of the laboratories was attended by Manuchehr Sharifzoda, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan; İbrahim Erbir, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Dushanbe; and the representatives of the Republic of Turkey’s Embassy in Dushanbe.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, İbrahim Erbir, TİKA’s Coordinator, said, “We have implemented 32 projects in Tajikistan this year, but the music laboratories we built at two schools in Dushanbe were among the projects that excited me the most. I believe that we made a significant contribution to the development of culture and the arts in Tajikistan with this project. I hope that the graduates of these schools will become great artists. As TİKA, we are glad to have implemented this project.”

Manuchehr Sharifzoda, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, also delivered a speech and thanked TİKA for implementing this project at their schools. He said he hoped that the cultural cooperation between the two countries would become closer. Sharifzoda said, “These fully-equipped modern laboratories will contribute to the education of our children and help them become distinguished artists, musicians, and composers and represent Tajikistan with honor in the international arena. I hope we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries and hold many other cultural events together next year.”

The ceremony also included a concert by the students of the school.
