TİKA Supports Calligraphers Association in Afghanistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has provided equipment support, that will be used in muralism, painting, traditional calligraphy, and hand lettering education, to the Calligraphers Association in Afghanistan operating in the capital city, Kabul.

It is expected that 400 trainees who study art in the fields of muralism, painting, traditional calligraphy, and hand lettering within the Calligraphers Association will benefit from 15 kinds of equipment provided by TİKA.

President of the Calligraphers Association of Afghanistan, Arif Ghulami Ghaznawi said, “It has been proven once again that Türkiye and TİKA are with the people of Afghanistan, as it has been for many years. We will share the equipment provided to our association with our fellow artists in Mazar-i Sharif, Herat, and Ghazni provinces. ” in his statement.

TİKA’s Coordinator in Kabul, Zühtü Çal, stated that as TİKA, they attach importance to the culture and art projects as well as health, education, agriculture, and water sanitation projects in Afghanistan. Noting that they witness the superior talents of young Afghan people in every field and that they hope art lovers will improve themselves with the provided equipment, Çal said, “From now on, we will again try to carry out projects and activities within our limits in this field and other development fields.”

Art teachers and students who participated in the delivery ceremony thanked Türkiye and Turkish people for their support.
