TİKA Supports Beekeeping in the Balkans

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Ordu Apiculture Research Institute, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, held the “Advanced Training on Queen Bees in the Balkans” in Ordu for beekeeping specialists from the Balkans.

A total of 10 beekeeping specialists from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the training, which was held in order to share the capacity of our country and the experience of our specialists with friendly and sister countries.

The 5-day theoretical and applied training program focused on private sector practices and the examination of the flora for beekeeping in the Black Sea Region.

As part of the training program, the trainees visited Tuncay Sonel, Governor of Ordu, and Dr. M.Hilmi Güler, Mayor of Ordu, and informed them about the project.

Mirsad Hodzic, a trainee from Serbia, said, “Even though I have been engaged in beekeeping for many years, I believe I was trained well here.”

Amer Dautovic, a trainee from Montenegro, stressed Türkiye’s success in beekeeping, and said, “It was a great opportunity to be trained in such a country. I would like to thank those who contributed to the program.”

The training ended after the presentation of certificates to the trainees.
