TİKA Supports a Rehabilitation Center in Tajikistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan equipped the kitchen and dining hall of the Romit Veterans and Retirees Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, which is affiliated with the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions.

The project gave the center a modern look and enabled veterans and retirees treated at the center to be served in a safer and cleaner environment.

In his speech at the delivery ceremony held for the supplies, İbrahim Erbir, TİKA’s Dushanbe Coordinator, stated that TİKA attaches special importance to social projects and thanked the officials of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions for their cooperation.

Veterans and retirees treated at the center thanked Turkey for the project.

The Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan serves people who are elderly, have disabilities, have no family, or are in need, in various fields, including accommodation. The agency provides nursing homes, supportive services for people with intellectual disabilities, and rehabilitation services at centers in 11 different regions of the country. More than 400 people benefit from the Vahdat City Romit Veterans and Retirees Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, located in Dushanbe, every year.
