TİKA Supports a Center for Persons with Disabilities in Serbia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) built a glass greenhouse for the Center for Persons with Disabilities in Kruševac, which serves nearly 50 people with disabilities living in Kruševac and neighboring municipalities.

Established in 2010, the Center for Persons with Disabilities in Kruševac provides day-long care, accommodation, nutrition programs, education, and treatment, supports the social integration of disadvantageous individuals, and helps them enter a profession free of charge.

The residents of the center for persons with disabilities will be able to grow vegetables, tea, various herbs, and flowers in the glass greenhouse built by TİKA. Thus, they will adapt to life better and will be able to act independently in a controlled work environment.

The delivery ceremony held for the project was attended by Jasmina Palurović, Mayor of Kruševac; Nevena Lazarević, Director of the Center for Persons with Disabilities in Kruševac; and Mehmet Mete Anaç, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Belgrade.

In her speech at the ceremony, Jasmina Palurović, Mayor of Kruševac, stressed the importance of TİKA’s support for the development of Serbia. Nevena Lazarević, Director of the Center for Persons with Disabilities in Kruševac, said that she was happy with the glass greenhouse built by TİKA for the Center for Persons with Disabilities in Kruševac.
