TİKA's Support to the International Panel of Cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan

In order to increase the agricultural cooperation between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan and to improve the cooperatives, the online "International Panel of Cooperatives" has taken place on May 26-27, 2021 with the cooperation of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The panel, which took place at the Cooperative Education and Consultancy Center founded by TİKA in 2019 within the Skryabin Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, was attended by many scholars and agricultural experts from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, India and Moldova.

The experience and the know-how of the said countries in the cooperatives field have been exchanged at the panel, for which the opening speeches were given by Dr. Rahman Nurdun, TİKA’s Vice President; Askar Sagınabyev, Head of the Department of Cooperatives at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development; Almazbek İrgaşev, Vice Dean of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University; and Savitri Sinkh, Program Coordinator of the International Cooperative Alliance.

In his speech, TİKA’s Vice President Dr. Rahman Nurdun stated that agriculture and livestock had special importance among TİKA's projects in Kyrgyzstan and that more than 50 projects had been carried out in this area in the last 9 years. Having stated that he was happy to share Turkey's experience in cooperatives through the said center, Nurdun thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development for their support for the center's activities.

Askar Sagınabyev, Head of the Department of Cooperatives at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development, explained the activities of the center and expressed his gratitude towards TİKA.
