TİKA's Support to the International Issyk-Kul Tourism Fair in Kyrgyzstan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provides support to the International Issyk-Kul Tourism Fair in Kyrgyzstan.

Organized in order to improve the tourism industry and promote Kyrgyzstan as an ecological and ethnographic tourism country, the International Issyk-Kul Tourism Fair has taken place with the participation of Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic. 'I am Nomad' was the theme of the fair, which has been organized with TİKA's support at the Ruh Ordo Cultural Center in the town of Cholpon-Ata in the Issyk-Kul region.

At the fair, which was attended by the Ambassador of Turkey in Bishkek Ahmet Sadık Doğan, the products from Turkey have been promoted whereas many promotional materials on the tourism areas of Turkey have been distributed. Also, a ‘Turkish Stand’ has been built in order to serve Turkish delicacies.

Providing a rich culture and entertainment program for the visitors, the fair included theatre plays and hunting shows with birds of prey and taigan as well as master classes in areas such as archery, souvenirs and handicrafts. Many events such as food displays have been held at the fair.

The participants coming from each region of Kyrgyzstan set up traditional tents whereas foreign participants set up stands in order to promote their own cultures and serve delicacies.

The fair, which consisted of three parts including the fair, the Tourism Forum "Kyrgyzstan – Land of Tourism", and the award ceremony for the best participants in the tourism market of Kyrgyzstan; was attended by many government officials and visitors, as well as 110 companies such as airlines, media institutions, travel companies, hotels and lodgings.

Azamat Camankulov, the organizer of the Issyk-Kul Exhibition and the former Minister of Culture of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, expressed his gratitude for the support.
