TİKA's Support to Serbian Radio Television of Vojvodina

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided technical equipment support to the Serbian Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV).

TİKA procured the technical equipment needed by RTV, a public broadcaster operating in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, which is located in Serbia with a population of 2 million.

Located in Novi Sad, the administrative center of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina; RTV has 2 television and 3 radio channels broadcasting in 16 minority languages, particularly in Serbian and Hungarian.

TİKA provided technical equipment and 2 cameras in order to contribute to the development of the technical infrastructure of RTV, which moved to a new service building.

Having attended the handover ceremony, Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade Hami Aksoy and TİKA’s Belgrade Program Coordinator Çağla Gültekin Tosbat made speeches, expressing their satisfaction for this productive cooperation and agreeing that these joint projects would continue in the future.

TİKA had also carried out many projects for RTV in recent years, particularly media training programs. In 2020, 20 employees had taken advantage of the Data Journalism Primary Training and Diplomacy Journalism Primary Training programs, carried out online in cooperation with the Anadolu Agency Journalism Academy.

In order to contribute to the occupational training of the RTV staff, a War Journalism Training program had been carried out in 2018 in cooperation with the AA Journalism Academy, whereas trainings for camera work, light and sound direction had been provided in 2019 in cooperation with TRT.

In 2020, thanks to the support provided by TİKA, a program of episodes promoting the touristic areas of Turkey has been shot under the name of “Turkish Coffee”. The program was broadcasted on the channel RTV1 during summer.
