TİKA's Support for the Education Infrastructure in Afghanistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided 1,200 school desks for the schools in the northern provinces of Afghanistan.

As part of its sustainable development activities in various fields in Afghanistan, TİKA procured 1,200 school desks for some schools operating under the provincial directorate of education of the Balkh, Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, Samangan and Kunduz provinces.

The handover ceremony took place at the Mevlânâ Jalāl ad-Dīn Mohammad Balkhī High School in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh, which was renovated by TİKA. Semih Lütfü Turgut, Consul General of Turkey in Mazar-i-Sharif; Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid, Head of the Balkh Provincial Council; Aliullah Emiri, Director of Education in Balkh; Ahmed Tevfik Emini, Mayor of Balkh; directors of the Afghan-Turkish High Schools in Mazar-i-Sharif for boys and girls, and members of the press participated in the ceremony.
