TİKA's Cooperation Protocol in Kazakhstan: “Following Khoja Ahmed Yasawi”

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Directorate of the Azret-Sultan Mausoleum of the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Kazakhstan signed a cooperation protocol for joint projects and activities on Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the forefather of the Turkish Tasawwuf culture.

The signing ceremony, which took place in the capital Nur-Sultan, was attended by İsmail Gürlek, TİKA’s Nur-Sultan Program Coordinator; Nurbolat Ahmetjanov, Director of the Azret-Sultan State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum; Berik Baybolov, Head of the Scientific Research Department of the Museum; as well as some press members.

As part of the visit paid by TİKA's Nur-Sultan Office to Turkistan in April 2021, negotiations took place and the historical document which is believed to be written in the 13th century by Yusuf Ata, the nephew and the student of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, was examined on site. The document, which is approximately three and a half meters long and written in Turkic Chagatai language, is preserved in the house of Seyyid Alim.

Within the scope of the protocol, it's firstly aimed to translate, restore, digitalize and publish the document, which belongs to Khoja Ahmed Yasawi's nephew.

The parties agreed on carrying out a series of projects on Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the forefather of Turkistan, under the title “Following Khoja Ahmed Yasawi”.

News and broadcasting organizations such as TRT, AA, the Official News Agency of Kazakhstan Kazinform and its subsidiary baq.kz attended the signing ceremony, where mutual regards were expressed and the cooperation between the two countries was underlined.
