13 April 2021TİKA Renovated the Office Space and Conference Halls of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in Balkh
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated, fully equipped, and furnished the office space and conference halls of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in Balkh in order to improve the administrative infrastructure of Afghanistan.
The ceremony held at the renovated conference hall was attended by Mohammad Afzal Hadid, Director of the Provincial Council of Balkh Province; Nur-ul-Haq Ataii, Deputy Representative of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in Balkh; Semih Lütfü Turgut, the Republic of Turkey’s Consul-General to Mazar-i-Sharif; Ahmad Tawfiq Amini, Mayor of Balkh Province; Mohammad Gul Zalmai, Director of Balkh National Radio Television; and other Turkish mission representatives.
In his speech at the ceremony, Afzal Hadid, Director of the Provincial Council of Balkh Province, extended his good wishes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Turkey and thanked the Republic of Turkey and TİKA for the project they implemented in Afghanistan, especially in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Semih Lütfü Turgut, the Republic of Turkey’s Consul-General to Mazar-i-Sharif, stated that they would continue to support Afghanistan in 2021, which marks the 100th anniversary of the friendly and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Nur-ul-Haq Ataii, Deputy Representative of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in Balkh, said that Turkey and Afghanistan have long-standing cultural and historical ties. Ataii noted that the people of Afghanistan fought side by side with the Turkish people in the Gallipoli campaign and that TİKA has implemented another project befitting this long-standing collaboration. Ataii stressed that the relations between the two countries would be stronger and more permanent than before and that the people of Afghanistan would never forget the assistance provided by Turkey in different industries.
