TİKA Puts a “Smile” on the Faces of Orphans as a Gift on World Orphans Day

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed holiday clothing, including local clothes and shoes, to 173 orphans residing in the orphanage of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society in Karachi, the most populated city in Pakistan, on the occasion of World Orphans Day.

TİKA and Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, which is active especially in the fields of education and health in Pakistan, distributed holiday clothing, including local clothes and shoes, to 173 orphans residing in My Home Orphanage, affiliated with the society, and 16 elderly people who are in need of care and reside in the nursing home in the same building.

In his speech at the ceremony, Cemal Sangu, Türkiye’s Consul General to Karachi, stated that he was very happy to attend this special event, which was held by TİKA for orphans. He also thanked TİKA for its projects in Pakistan. Muhammad Hanif Tayyab, Chairman of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, who served as a Minister in several Ministries in Pakistan, thanked and prayed for the Republic of Türkiye and its people for their gifts for orphans and the iftar dinner.

After the presentation of holiday gifts, TİKA held an iftar dinner for orphans and the residents of the nursing home. The dinner was attended by Cemal Sangu, Türkiye’s Consul General to Karachi; the officials of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society; and the staff of the orphanage.
