TİKA Provides Vocational Training to Libyan Experts

The training courses “Renewable Energy and Solar Energy Systems” and  “Repair and Maintenance of Household Appliances,” organized by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and Libya’s Ministry of Education, were completed successfully.

Taught by MEB’s vocational trainers within the scope of the Vocational Training and Employment Programs (MESİP), the training courses “Renewable Energy and Solar Energy Systems” and “Repair and Maintenance of Household Appliances” were successfully completed.

TİKA organized 4-week vocational training courses at the renewable energy laboratories equipped with the renewable energy training sets manufactured in Turkey, and home appliances repair workshops.

80 trainees who successfully completed the courses received their certificates at the certificate ceremony attended by the Republic of Turkey’s Consul General to Misrata Gürkan Gürmeriçliler, TİKA Tripoli Program Coordinator Fatih Karaca, Libyan National Board for Technical and Vocational Education, and faculty members.

The engineers and technical personnel of Misrata Iron and Steel Factory in Misrata Free Trade Zone and the academic staff of the Misurata University Training and Research Center for Renewable Energy attended the courses, which took place at the Faculty of Industrial Technology.

Organized upon the request of the officials of Libyan Government of National Accord to benefit from Turkey’s experience in vocational training, the training courses aim to satisfy the need for educated and qualified professionals arising from the departure of the foreign labor force due to political and economic crises in Libya.

TİKA effectively collaborates with Libyan authorities, especially the National Board for Technical and Vocational Education of Libya’s Ministry of Education, to train local trainers.

With the vocational training courses that will continue in Libya with an extended scope, TİKA aims to make Libya’s high potential in various fields, especially in human resources, more functional.
