Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided 8 ventilators to the ICU at TMSS Medical College Hospital in Bogura, Bangladesh.
TİKA provided 8 ventilators to the ICU at TMSS Medical College Hospital in Bogura, located in the northern part of Bangladesh. The ventilators were made available to the people of Bangladesh with a ceremony held at the hospital.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Mustafa Osman Turan, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dhaka; Muhammad Nassis Sulaiman, Resident Country Head at Islamic Development Bank; and Şevki Mert Barış, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Dhaka. At the ceremony, Ambassador Turan noted that Türkiye’s assistance to Bangladesh would strengthen the ties of solidarity between the two countries.
Turan stated that Bangladesh is a great role model in sustainable development, and that Ankara would continue to support Dhaka in several potential fields as well as the health industry.
Muhammad Nassis Sulaiman, Resident Country Head at Islamic Development Bank, referred to Türkiye’s massive humanitarian aid to many countries around the world, especially to Muslim countries. Sulaiman offered his thanks to TİKA for the ventilators.
Bogura residents with respiratory diseases needed to travel to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, for treatment, due to lack of equipment in Bogura. Approximately 1.5 million residents of the city will no longer need to travel to other cities, thanks to Turkish-made ventilators provided by TİKA.
