TİKA Provides Ramadan Food Aid to 6000 Families in Iraq

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided food aid to 6000 families in need across Iraq as part of its Ramadan programs for 2022.

TİKA distributed food parcels containing staples to 6000 families in need across Iraq as part of its Ramadan programs for 2022.

The distribution program started with the families of martyrs, widows, and orphans in Baghdad and continued with the families in Kirkuk, Mosul, Tal Afar, Diyala, Kifri, Karbala, and Nasiriyah. Food parcels were delivered to the families in need identified in coordination with the local government and NGOs.

TİKA also reached 2000 families in need living in and around Erbil and distributed food parcels in refugee camps that accommodate people who were displaced by ISIS, especially around Erbil. In this context, food parcels were delivered to a total of 1200 families in need, who are mostly Yazidis and live in the refugee camps of Bahirka and Mamrashan, in cooperation with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society.
