TİKA Provides Health Support to Tajikistan

The service building of Arbobhatun Village Health Center in the Rudaki District was renewed as part of the project carried out by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) under the Program to Promote Maternal and Child Health in Rural Areas in Tajikistan.

Within the scope of the project carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan, the additional building of the health center, which was no longer usable, was demolished and a building twice the size was built. All the medical equipment and office furniture needed for the center was provided.

Arbobhatun Village Health Center, which is the only health center in the village of Arbobhatun that has approximately ten thousand residents, provided health services to 43,764 people in 2017 alone. In addition, health services were delivered at the homes of 56,864 patients within the same year.

The health center includes departments such as family medicine, dentistry, gynecology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine, and consists of a total of 21 health personnel, nine of which are doctors and twelve of which are nurses.

The project aims to increase the capacity of the health center as well as provide health services under better conditions for the beneficiaries of the health center.
