TİKA Provides Food Aid for a Thousand Families in Afghanistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided food aid for a thousand families who had to leave their homes due to the conflicts in Faryab, located in northern Afghanistan.

District Governor to Andkhoy, Faryab Sultan Sanjar and District Governor to Kurghan Muhammed Ibrahim Tinmes, Faryab attended the ceremony organized for the distribution of the aids provided by TİKA with the initiative of the Turkish Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Sanjar said that thousands of families lost their homes due to the battles between Taliban and security forces in recent days. Stating that a thousand families that left their homes and took shelter in other regions due to the conflicts in Kurghan and Andkhoy, Faryab were supported with food aid by TİKA, Sanjar thanked Turkish people and Turkey for their help. Sanjar emphasized the eternal and ever-lasting friendship between Turkey and Afghanistan.

Food aid included flour, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, shell beans, and salt.
