TİKA Provides Equipment to the Ministry of Health of South Sudan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided medical equipment and hygiene products to the Ministry of Health of South Sudan to support the country’s fight against COVID-19.

The delivery ceremony of the medical masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectant sprayers, protective coveralls for doctors, and medical goggles provided by TİKA was attended by Minister of Health of South Sudan Elizabeth Achuei, Turkey’s Ambassador to Juba Tuğrul Biltekin, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mayen Machul Achiek, and TİKA’s Assistant Coordinator of Juba Turgut Gazigil.

Stating that people in this landlocked country have difficulty in accessing food and cleaning supplies as a result of the measures taken, Ambassador Tuğrul Biltekin said, “Following the distribution of food and hygiene kits that we started in Ramadan, we continue our assistance activities in South Sudan by providing equipment to the Ministry of Health to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. As the Republic of Turkey, we will always stand in solidarity with South Sudan, a friendly country.”
