TİKA Provided Three-Wheeled Vans for People with Disabilities in Lebanon

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided 10 three-wheeled vans for people with disabilities in Sidon, Lebanon.

The three-wheeled vans provided by TİKA were delivered with a ceremony held at Balsama Health Care Center in Sidon on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated on December 3.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Ali Barış Ulusoy, Turkey’s Ambassador to Beirut; Orhan Aydın, TİKA’s Coordinator in Lebanon; and Remzi Zeydan, Director of Balsama Health Care Center. Ulusoy delivered a short speech and stated that they were pleased with the support provided through such a project just before the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Noting that the vehicles provided by TİKA would significantly change the lives of people with disabilities, Ulusoy said, “I hope we will soon see our brothers and sisters with disabilities driving these vehicles.” Ulusoy added that TİKA made them proud and was the best intermediary institution delivering the support provided by the Turkish Government.

Remzi Saydan, Director of Balsama Health Care Center, noted that Turkey carried out many assistance and support activities in Lebanon, even though it is not its neighbor, and thanked Turkey and TİKA for the vehicles provided. The keys of the vehicles were delivered to Balsama Health Care Center after the signing of the protocol between TİKA and the center.
