TİKA Provided Food Aid to 1,000 Families in Georgia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed aid parcels containing staples to 1,000 families in need in Georgia, which combats the COVID-19 outbreak.

TİKA delivered food aid to families in the regions of Adjara, Samegrelo, Guria, Svaneti, Kartli, and Kakheti. The agency had previously started the production of 5,000 loaves of bread a day in the bakery at the Vaziani Social Life Center and 25,000 surgical masks at the Vaziani Sewing and Shoe Workshop as part of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the mayor of a town heavily populated by immigrants, who are among the groups affected the most by the outbreak, Mayor of Tsalenjikha Besik Partsvania stated that TİKA’s assistance means much more to them than it seems, and expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Turkey and TİKA for making them feel that they are not alone by providing this assistance as part of the fight against the outbreak.

In the region of Guria, where food parcels were distributed to families, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze stated that TİKA served humanity with this project and that locals needed this assistance very much. He expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to the distribution of this aid to families in need.
