17 November 2020TİKA Provided Equipment to Moroni Municipality in the Union of the Comoros
In the Union of the Comoros, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment such as three-wheel garbage trucks and mechanical saws to Moroni Municipality to be used in cleaning works.
As part of the project, TİKA provided 14 different items such as three-wheel garbage trucks, mechanical saws, lawn mowers, shovels, pickaxes, wheelbarrows, and gloves to be used in the cleaning works of the municipality.
In order to create a healthy, happy, and modern living space for citizens in a clean environment, the teams of the Cleaning Department of Moroni Municipality will work intensively to clean off the dust and mud accumulated on streets, avenues, and untidy and empty lands due to seasonal conditions and pick up litter according to certain schedules, using manpower and machine power.
TİKA’s Moroni Program Coordination Office delivered the materials and equipment needed by Moroni Municipality, which has launched a campaign to clean major arterial roads, boulevards, streets, and squares with the slogan “Clean Environment, Healthy Community,” to the officials of the Municipality with a ceremony.
In his speech at the ceremony, Mayor Hasan Mohammed stated that they would be able to provide cleaning services more quickly and efficiently, thanks to TİKA’s great support. Noting that they are happy with the continued solidarity that TİKA showed, Mayor Hasan thanked all the officials of TİKA for their support.
