TİKA Opened the Mevlana Research Center in Afghanistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) opened the Mevlana Research Center in Afghanistan’s Parwan Province.

The opening ceremony of the research center, which was established within the Parwan University, was attended by Parwan Governor Fazluddin Ayyar, TİKA Kabul Coordinator Mustafa Bütün, R.T. Embassy in Kabul Education Attaché Atakan Doğan, Yunus Emre Institute Kabul Manager Abdullah Yeğin, Parwan University Rector Ghulam Daud Baha, faculty members and the members of the media.

Parwan University Rector Baha gave the opening speech and stated that Mevlana Jalal al-Din Rumi is a shared value of both countries and that’s why the center was named after him. Baha explained that the center will be a great opportunity for the students and they will have the chance to conduct research on many different topics in this center.

Parwan Governor Ayyar emphasized that Turkey cares a lot about Afghan people and offers assistance without expecting anything in return. Explaining that there are many opportunities for Turkish businessmen in Afghanistan, Ayyar said that they are ready to provide all kinds of support to Turkish people.

TİKA Kabul Coordinator Bütün remarked that since 2004, Turkey has implemented 1056 projects in Afghanistan through TİKA. Bütün also said: “TİKA carries out its activities in 59 countries with 61 offices. With our offices in Kabul, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Herat, Afghanistan is the only country where we had 3 offices, which is a testament to how much we care about our Afghan brothers.
