TİKA Offers Support to Family Development Center in Yemen

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment support to the Family Development Center in the city of Aden located in southern Yemen. 

An opening ceremony was held at the Family Development Center in Aden’s Mansura District, which was supplied with computers, sewing machines, chairs, and other equipment needed in training rooms and offices.

During the ceremony, Mohammad Al-Barri, an officer from the Mansura District Governorate, thanked TİKA for all the assistance provided to Yemeni people. Barri called out other international assistance organizations in Yemen “to follow the example of TİKA when it comes to providing services for women, children, and young people.”

TİKA Yemen Coordinator Abdullah Sarı also said they support this center due to activities carried out for women and children in Aden. Sarı expressed that they care about and grant equipment support to the Family Development Center’s Economic Empowerment Project, which trains poor families with limited opportunities and provides them with job opportunities.

Within the scope of the Economic Empowerment Project, a thousand women are given training on project and marketing management, sewing, photography, hairdressing, design, and computers.
