TİKA Implements an Agricultural Training Project in Uzbekistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided theoretical and applied training to 30 specialists as part of the “Project for the Development of Potato Farming in Uzbekistan.”

TİKA has successfully implemented many projects for the development of agricultural production, forestry, veterinary sciences, and livestock production in Uzbekistan since its establishment. The Agency continues to contribute to agricultural and rural development in the country.

The “Project for the Development of Potato Farming in Uzbekistan” is coordinated by TİKA and implemented by the Research Institute for Vegetable, Melon and Potato Production under the Research and Production Center for Agriculture and Food Supply of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the expertise of the Potato Research Institute in Niğde, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye.

As part of the project, specialists from Türkiye visited the laboratory trial sites and examined potato cultivation areas in the Institute from March 28 to April 3, 2022. Jamshid Khodjaev, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, attended the theoretical and applied training courses held for the specialists in the institute on tissue culture technique and potato breeding.

The participants who successfully completed the training were presented certificates at a ceremony attended by Cemalettin Tüney, TİKA’s Coordinator in Tashkent; Rüstem Nızamov, Director of the Institute; instructors; and specialists.
