TİKA Delivered Food and Clothing Aid to Earthquake-Hit Regions

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) delivered food and clothing aid to earthquake-hit regions.

TİKA, which helps Türkiye extend its helping hand to those in need around the world, intensified its efforts for earthquake victims after the earthquakes that affected 10 provinces, particularly Kahramanmaraş, where the districts of Pazarcik and Elbistan, the epicenters of the earthquakes, are located.

TİKA took action on the day of the earthquakes in coordination with Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism, and prepared food and clothing parcels to be transported by 11 semi-trailer trucks and delivered to earthquake-hit regions.

Some of the trucks carrying relief items such as food, adult and children’s clothing, blankets, and heaters for earthquake victims, particularly those in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Malatya, and Adıyaman, arrived in the region. The items carried by the aid truck that arrived in Elbistan were delivered to the injured in Elbistan State Hospital and to the earthquake victims in the front yard of the hospital. Some of the relief items that arrived in Malatya and Kahramanmaraş were delivered to warehouses for distribution. The trucks carrying the aid packages prepared for earthquake victims in Hatay and Adıyaman set off to be sent to the region.

Hot meals will also be served in the soup kitchens in Malatya and Kahramanmaraş using the ingredients delivered by TİKA.

TİKA will continue to provide assistance according to needs and demands in coordination with government agencies.
