TİKA Continues to Support Ahiska Turks

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) carried out the Agricultural Development Project for Ahiska Turks who got back to Georgia.

Agriculture and animal husbandry, both of which greatly contribute to Georgian economy, have the potential to improve with respect to the region of Ahiska’s climate and soil structure.

Accordingly, TİKA has carried out Agricultural Development Project for the purpose of improving quantity and quality of hygienic milk production and economically support families whose main source of income is animal husbandry and live in Georgia’s Samtredia, Ozurgeti and Ahiska regions. Milking machines, provided with the project, were delivered to families in Samtredia, Ozurgeti and Ahiska with the attendance of Ali Kaan Orbay, Türkiye’s ambassador to Tblisi; Tuba Özütok, TİKA’s coordinator in Tblisi; and Tahir Nadiradze, The World Union of Ahiska Turks’ delegate to Georgia.

In accordance with the project scope, the experts, coming from Türkiye, gave education regarding the quality and quantity of milk production to Ahiskan families.

Families that got their hands on milking machines expressed their happiness and gratitude towards TİKA.
