TİKA Aids Flood Victims in Tunisia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed disaster relief materials to many families, whose homes and shops were damaged by the flood in Tunisia’s Ben Arous Governorate.

In Tunisia, following 24-hour long stormy and rainy weather, the ensuing flood resulted in 6 lives lost, including a baby, and heavy material damages. TİKA offered immediate humanitarian assistance to the residents of Ben Arous Governorate’s Mhamdia region that was struck by the disaster.

The immediate assistance activities that were coordinated by Mhamdia Mayor’s Office delivered two trucks of disaster relief materials such as countertop stoves, mattresses and food packages to the families in Mhamdia, whose homes were damaged by the flood.

During the flood, the water levels reached up to 2 meters in Mhamdia region, damaging many homes and rendering any furniture in these homes completely unusable.
