TİKA’s Ramadan Programs Continue in Ethiopia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed 15 tons of food to families in need in Ethiopia as part of its Ramadan programs.

TİKA distributed food to families in need in an Orphan Children Care Centre, where a total of 450 children aged from 3 to 13 get education. The care centre is in Dera, a small town 125 km far from Addis Ababa, the capital city. The orphans’ families were provided with 15 tons of food including flour, rice, sunflower oil and majhool.

TİKA’s Coordinator in Ethiopia, Cengiz Polat stated that they are granting aid in the regional state of Oromia in Ethiopia. Polat said, “We are happy to have provided orphans’ families in Dera, a small town 125 km far from the capital city, Addis Ababa, with 15 tons of food including flour, rice, sunflower oil and majhool. In this holy month of Ramadan, we are distributing the donations our people could afford to the needy families around the world, and we are, thus, trying to fulfil our mission in the best way possible.”  

Polat informed that Orphan Children Care Centre was given aid and the orphans who try to survive in difficult living conditions were presented gifts. He added that they also organized an iftar dinner for 1000 people.
