In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Sekizkök said that he was happy to be in Radoviš and attend the opening ceremony of the Turkey-North Macedonia Friendship Playground. Noting that children are the guarantee of the future, Sekizkök said, “We would like them to look back on their childhood years later and remember how they lived happily with their friends. I am certain that you are as excited as I am that this playground will bring good memories, interactions, and friendships to our children.” Sekizkök stated that the playground would be a reminder of the deep-rooted ties of solidarity and friendship between the two nations.
“We hope that it will contribute significantly to the development of our children”
Halim Ömer Söğüt, TİKA’s Skopje Coordinator, noted that TİKA has carried out various activities in the region. Stating that the friendly playground would contribute greatly both to local children and to the municipality, Söğüt said, “We hope that this playground will remain in service for many years and contribute greatly to the social life and development of our children.”
Söğüt said that TİKA has carried out many activities in various fields in the region, not only for Turkish people, but for all people, regardless of their language, religion, or ethnicity. Gerasim Konzulov, Mayor of Radoviš, stated that the playground was built in a month. Thanking TİKA and the Turkish Embassy for their support, Konzulov said, “During my term of 4 years as the Mayor of Radoviš, many projects have been implemented in regions that are heavily populated by Turkish people.”
