The Photography Exhibition Themed “Loving Famagusta Deeply” Opened

The photography exhibition themed “Loving Famagusta Deeply” has opened with the contribution of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Held by TİKA and the Antique Famagusta Foundation, the photography exhibition themed “Loving Famagusta Deeply” has opened in Bandabuliya in the Walled City of Famagusta.

Featuring photographs of the historical and cultural sites in Famagusta, as well as photographs taken by young people from Famagusta, the exhibition will run until January 27, 2023.

The opening ceremony held for the exhibition was attended by Ersin Tatar, President of the TRNC; Ünal Üstel, Prime Minister of the TRNC; Hasan Taçoy, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the TRNC; Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay, Chair of the Antique Famagusta Foundation and MP for Famagusta; and art lovers from Famagusta.

President Tatar stated that he was happy to attend the opening ceremony held for such a meaningful exhibition. He noted that the exhibition contributed to the promotion of the TRNC and Famagusta, which is one of the major settlements in the TRNC with its port, historical sites, Varosha quarter, and university.

Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay, Chair of the Antique Famagusta Foundation, said that she was happy to hold this exhibition, which focuses on young people and aims to contribute to the branding process of Famagusta. Canaltay added that the main purpose of the project was to introduce Famagusta to young people and promote place attachment and motivation.

Elin Konyalı delivered a speech on behalf of young people whose photographs were on display. She expressed her passion for photography and the city of Famagusta and thanked those who contributed to the exhibition.
