The Novel Manas–Altay Dağlarının Kaplanı [Manas: The Tiger of the Altai Mountains] Was Promoted in Kyrgyzstan with the Support of TİKA

Prof. Hayrettin İvgin’s novel Manas–Altay Dağlarının Kaplanı [Manas: The Tiger of the Altai Mountains] was promoted in Kyrgyzstan by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the International Word Academy Association.

The novel Manas–Altay Dağlarının Kaplanı [Manas: The Tiger of the Altai Mountains], written by Prof. Hayrettin İvgin, President of the International Word Academy Association, and inspired by the Epic of Manas, was promoted at three events in the cities of Bishkek and Karakol.

The “Hayrettin İvgin-Manas Altay Dağlarının Kaplanı [Epic Mythology Novel] Scientific Promotional Meeting” was held at the Manas and Chingiz Aitmatov National Academy. The meeting was attended by Arslan Koichiev, Chief Advisor to the President of Kyrgyzstan; Kanibek Osmonbekov, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan; Prof. Dusen Kaseinov, Secretary-General of TURKSOY; Prof. Topchubek Turgunaliyev, President of the Manas and Chingiz Aitmatov National Academy; and members of the International Word Academy Association including Ayhan Nasuhbeyoğlu, a poet, author, and former governor; Mustafa Özcivan, President of the Hacı Bektaş Veli Cultural Association; and leading poets and authors from Kyrgyzstan.

In his speech, Chief Advisor Koichiev stated that they attached great importance to the fact that the novel was published in Kyrgyz. He congratulated Prof. Hayrettin İvgin, the author of the book, and said that they expected Hayrettin İvgin to write a book about Semetey, the son of Manas, as well.

Prof. Dusen Kaseinov, Secretary-General of TURKSOY, stressed the importance of Manas, introduced Hayrettin İvgin, and noted that the novel was promoted in Ankara with the participation of the Ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and with the extensive reviews of scientists.

Kanibek Osmonbekov, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, said they were happy that the Kyrgyz translation of the novel was published by TİKA in Bishkek.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dusen Kaseinov, Secretary-General of TURKSOY, presented a “TURKSOY Service Award Plaque” to Hayrettin İvgin for his work on Manas.

The event held at the Rectorate Building's Conference Hall at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was attended by Prof. Alpaslan Ceylan, Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University; Osman Usta, TİKA’s Bishkek Coordinator; Sedat Sağırkaya, Channel Coordinator of TRT Avaz; Kojogeldi Kuluev, Representative of TURKSOY in Kyrgyzstan; Dr. Kaliia Kulalieva, a member of the Faculty of Literature at Manas University; Assoc. Prof. Bakıytgul Kulcanova, a faculty member at Al-Farabi University in Kyrgyzstan; and many other academics.

Delivering a speech on his work after the speeches of special guests, Prof. Hayrettin İvgin noted that his novel Manas–Altay Dağlarının Kaplanı [Manas: The Tiger of the Altai Mountains], which was inspired by the Epic of Manas, had been published in various languages, including Azerbaijani and Uzbek. İvgin thanked TİKA for supporting the publishing and promotion of the Kyrgyz translation.

The third promotional event of the book was held at Kasym Tynystanov Issyk-Kul State University, located in the city of Karakol in Issyk-Kul, with the participation of the administrators and faculty members of the University and the students of the Department of Turkish Language Teaching.

At the end of the meeting, Askarbek Imanbaev, Rector of the University, presented a certificate of appreciation to Hayrettin İvgin.
