The Mobile Office Vehicles Given as a Gift by TİKA Make Distances Insignificant in Uzbekistan

The mobile office vehicles given as a gift by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) to Uzbekistan 4 years ago make distances insignificant.

Thanks to 20 mobile office vehicles given as a gift by TİKA to the Agency for Public Services, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, in September 2018, public services can be offered even in the most remote corners of the country. Mobile office vehicles provide public services to citizens at their doorsteps even in the most remote corners of the country and serve even in areas without electricity thanks to their solar panels. These vehicles offer most of the nearly 200 services provided by public institutions. Each vehicle travels an average of 10 to 12 thousand kilometers per year. The mobile office vehicles that serve in Tashkent Region provided various public services to dozens of citizens in the village of Sanginek in the foothills of Mount Parkent, located 80 km from the capital. Thus, the residents of this mountainous region could use the public services they needed without going to the district center.

 – They can offer nearly 100 different public services

Speaking to an AA reporter, Sevara Zakirova, Spokesperson of the Agency for Public Services, stated that 20 specially-equipped mobile offices given as a gift by TİKA play a key role in delivering public services to the most remote corners of the country. Zakirova noted that the Agency for Public Services provided nearly 200 types of public services, including notary, tax, inheritance, social insurance, and land registry services; work permit and license, birth certificate, identification card, passport, and driver’s license procedures; utility bill payments; document registration; preschool and school enrollment; retirement and military service procedures; natural gas and electricity subscriptions of natural and legal persons; and building permits and building project permits. She added that these mobile offices could offer nearly 100 different public services. Zakirova stressed that mobile office vehicles offer public services to more than one million people per year and that each vehicle travels 10 to 12 thousand kilometers per year. She said, “Mobile office vehicles facilitate the delivery of public services and operate all week long in order to make distances insignificant for citizens living in remote areas and deliver public services to citizens ‘at their doorsteps.’”

Erkin Doripov, an official at the Tashkent Office of the Agency for Public Services, noted that mobile office vehicles can serve even in areas without electricity as they have independent power supply and Internet connection thanks to their specially-installed solar panels. He added that this feature is very useful when serving remote settlements. Doripov stated that the remote areas in need are identified in advance, and mobile offices specifically visit these areas. He said, “While the Tashkent Office served more than one million people in 2021, nearly 170,000 of them were citizens who were residing in remote areas and offered public services via mobile office vehicles. These vehicles help citizens save time and money.”

Cemalettin Tüney, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Tashkent, visited the mobile office vehicle serving the village of Sanginek and asked the citizens for their opinions on the services provided to them. Speaking to an AA reporter, Tüney stated that these vehicles delivered various services to those living in rural areas, far from city and district centers, without interruption. He noted that these mobile vehicles are specially equipped with solar panels and satellite transmitters for power supply and Internet connection, and have been specially developed to serve remote villages where public services are limited. Tüney stressed that mobile offices were appreciated by Uzbek authorities. He said, “We have been informed that Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, saw TİKA’s mobile vehicles during his working visit to a region in the country, and that he wondered what they were, and examined and appreciated the vehicles. We are particularly happy to be praised and appreciated by the highest Uzbek authorities. As TİKA, we are pleased with our contribution to making life easier for the Uzbek people with the mobile offices we provided.”
